This is Klarzen Inc., which has supported operations for oil fields, agribusiness projects, and SMEs in the country in the use of alternative energies.

Founded in 2012 and with a presence in Colombia since 2017, the American multinational Klarzen Inc. has been expanding its presence in the country through the development of technology and clean energy solutions.

The company has driven the transformation of oil and gas fields into centers of sustainable green energy, while also promoting cost savings in operation to a point where photovoltaic energy generation costs less than 10 cents per kilowatt-hour, compared to the traditional 15 cents per kilowatt-hour of fossil fuel generation.

An example is the 10 MWp solar energy farm of GeoPark Limited in the Casanare department, where Klarzen Inc. designed, financed, led the manufacturing and installation of this cutting-edge project, setting a milestone as the largest solar energy system in the private oil and gas sector in Latin America. This initiative involved an investment of over US $8 million, the creation of more than 200 jobs, and the reduction of 5,915 tons of CO2, which would be equivalent to planting more than 200,000 trees in the next decade.

Jhon Cohen, CEO of Klarzen Inc., states, "We have full confidence in the energy transition and the democratization of Renewable Energies. We have built solar projects for oil fields, for gas exploration and extraction fields, but we have also built solar projects for small and medium-sized companies in the country, as well as non-profit organizations. To date, we have constructed more than 46 photovoltaic solar projects in Colombia, and our goals by 2030 are to bring solar energy to more than 1,000 corporate users."

"This productive commitment by Klarzen aligns with the national government's efforts and guidelines in support of the country's sustainable industrialization and the promotion of energy transition. These are the types of investments we are seeking for Colombia that generate productive linkages, competitiveness, and development in our regions, in large industries, and in small businesses, a clear example of social and economic justice," stated Carmen Caballero, President of ProColombia.

The multinational's experience has extended far beyond oil fields, with cases like that of Ingredion Incorporated, a company with decades of history in the agroindustrial segment in the country. Ingredion received support from Klarzen for the installation of a modern system of 834 600-watt photovoltaic solar panels, contributing to the reduction of over 15,000 tons of CO2, equivalent to planting 18,300 trees over the next 25 years.

The Valle del Cauca-based company Hacienda Lucerna, an exporter of panela, dairy, and organic sugar, also installed an infrastructure of 216 photovoltaic solar panels with a capacity of 130 kWp, which will contribute to the reduction of over 3,000 tons of CO2, equivalent to planting 5,700 trees over the next 25 years.

From large corporations to small and medium-sized enterprises, the adoption of solar energy is taking a central role in business strategy. Examples like Arepas el Carriel, a small and medium-sized business in Bogotá, are moving towards sustainable transformation for food production using energy generated from Klarzen's solar panels. They have also transitioned to electric mobility, currently employing more than 10 electric trucks for product transportation in Colombia.
